Dying Light 2 receives a lot of criticism from the players for the last changes: “Techland sold the soul to the devil”

Dying Light 2: Stay Human once again fell under the fire of criticism by players. This time, the main problem for the community was not the game itself, but the new policy of Polish developers, which with the latest update began to focus more on microtransactions, and quite aggressively.

The latest changes, as well as the absorption of Techland by the Chinese company Tencent, were so outraged by the fans of the game that they began to leave unflattering reviews about it, scolding the developers for the fact that their attitude to the game and players changed for the worse.

Although the so -called "Revoy-bombing", It seems that he is only gaining momentum: over the past 30 days of positive reviews on the Polish game on the Steam platform, it has noticeably diminished. Moreover, the community of the game begins "flood" Criticizing the last steps of Techland.

The fact that a paid premium valus will appear in Dying Light 2 was quite expected. The problem is that over the past years, Techland has managed to establish itself as a studio that sides the players and listens to the opinion of the community. Therefore, the inevitable microtransactions built into the game did not seem to fans such a big problem.

Unfortunately, players’ trust in Polish developers was quickly undermined when it turned out that the studio chose the standard path of microtransactions, which had nothing to do with the orientation to the consumer, which until recently was famous for the studio.

  • So, in the last update 1.12 to Dying Light 2 to the game added premium valu, the so-called DL glasses. Any player who entered the game until October 7 will receive 500 free points.
  • The problem is that this number of glasses will not be enough for any of the last "Bandles" (the most cheap does not have enough 50 DL), but only for old cosmetic objects, which, in the end, could be obtained during free events.
  • The update also changed the wording of the license agreement, which clearly states that after the purchase of the premium valet is not subject to refund.
  • Even worse, techland, like other large "Players" in the market, offers such an amount of internal currency that forces to overpay if you want to purchase only one set. Example. 1100 DL points cost $ 9.99, and, for example, for a set of revolvers, you need to pay 600 points.

The mechanism of sale of the premium currency in DL2, although it is more attractive from the point of view of larger purchases, works in such a way that the player, looking into the wallet, does it a little deeper and acquires more than one specific package, but, for example, two or three.

Some players believe that an internal store in a game is a completely unnecessary function that serves only for players manipulating.

I don’t like it when the package costs 550 or 700 points, and you are forced to buy an option for 1000 points for $ 10. Then you have, say, 250 points, and there is a set of 500 points, and you buy 500 points for $ 5. Before the appearance of DL Points, the price would be perhaps $ 12. Now you will have to spend at least $ 15. Not to mention the fact that they cannot lower prices.

As if this is not enough, a group of spectators joined the criticism of the last update, who noted that some types of weapons in the game were weakened quite significantly, without reporting this in the description of the patches.

The players even began to put forward theories that some equipment was specially weakened "Slick", to stimulate the purchase of a paid one that will work better.

All this taken together forced some players to play for "The death of the game", Which, in their opinion, was supposed to lose its attractiveness after the acquisition of Techniland by Tencent.

Techland policy disappointed even the most ardent fans of the creativity of Polish developers, who began to assume that the Techland – Tencent transaction is the initiative of the Poles who intentionally went on "deal" with a Chinese giant to implement their assumptions regarding the monetization of the game.

Of course, the above paragraphs are just speculation and speculation, but he perfectly illustrates what disappointment for many was a studio, which was once praised for respect and love for gamers.
